Meet the Staff

Mark’s consulting engineering career started in Toronto in the mid 80’s. He moved to Victoria in 1993 to D.W.Thomson Ltd. for the D&T building at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. In 1997 Mark co-founded Hirschfield Williams Consultants Ltd. with then partner Rob Hirschfield. Mark grew the firm and became sole Owner in 2005, later to be acquired by WSP in December 2010. After climbing the corporate ladder to Director of Buildings for Vancouver Island for WSP, Mark left corporate life in 2014. In 2015 Mark joined the AME Group as Quality Control Manager.

Mark saw the opportunity in Victoria for a capable firm with a decent work ethic and core values when dealing with staff and Owners a like. In August 2016 m3 became that reality.

Rob began consulting in 2002 and joined Hirschfield Williams Timmins Ltd. in 2004. A good portion of his experience has been in healthcare and related mechanical systems as he progressed from design engineer to Project Manager. After the WSP acquisition Rob also climbed the WSP corporate ladder becoming the Mechanical Department Manager in 2014 and later Mechanical – Electrical Manager in 2016. Rob soon realized that Corporate life was not where he wanted to be for the rest of his career and so became one of the founding members of m3.

Brenton also started with Hirschfield Williams Timmins Ltd. in 2004. His experience varies widely from healthcare to commercial production plant and office buildings. Brenton has worked as a Designer for hospital work, university, airport, commercial, and multi-family residential projects. After the WSP acquisition Brenton remained with the firm leaving in 2014 to work as a Revit designer with AME until 2016 when he became the third and final founding member of m3.
